Random Photos

We are very lucky - Anderson is a very happy baby. He gives us lots of smiles and loves to talk (coo) for us. We have even been able to get a few giggles out of him - yes we found out he is ticklish.

Elephant

One of Jackie's Christmas stocking gifts this year was an elephant puppet - you know the ones from Ikea, from Grandma and Grandpa.

Well, she LOVES her Elephant. Currently this is her toy / stuffie of choice. He also gets the opportunity to do EVERYTHING. He gets to take a ride in Anderson's swing, she pushes him on her car and the other day I found this....

All strapped in and ready to go for a car ride in Anderson's car seat. The funny part you can't see - but all the buckles are done up - you know Elephant must be safe.

And she is an amazing sister - she is always trying to share things with Anderson - yesterday she shared her precious Elephant with him while he was playing with the toy she was patiently waiting her turn for.
Funny how infant toys are suddenly so desirable.

Grandma and Papa

I want to be just like Mommy....

First we start with a doll and bottles...

Then we move on to the real thing...

In the Kitchen with Jenny

As many of you know I love food. I love to eat food just about as much as I love to make food.

I have an extensive cookbook collection (some might say I am a big of a junkie), and I read them for pleasure.

My other love is food blogs. I follow some religiously, I get ideas from them and love reading about other peoples hits and misses in the kitchen.

So I have decided to embark on the food blog journey. I have chosen to give Wordpress a try - I do love blogger - and this blog will stay here - but my food blog with have a bit of a different look to it.

I will set up a permanent link on the side soon, but until I get around to doing that - please check out "In the Kitchen with Jenny" here.

Please feel free to share this site with anyone you think might be interested.

Weight

New Year's Resolution - lose weight. Can we get any more original?

I want to loose 8 pounds - this will put me back to my wedding weight. But more importantly I want to get my pre-baby tummy back. I might have lost my baby weight - but I have not gotten back my pre-baby shape yet.

Adam also wants to lose weight - and this is where I come in - I am the worst enabler for him. As many of you know I love to cook and I also love food. But I like full-fat, great tasting food. And I love it when my hubby loves my food.

So as Adam is working on his weight - portion control is one of his biggest hurdles, I am going to have to work on what i make for dinner each night.

The other thing I want to do this year is blog more food / recipes. Last year I failed miserably in this department - but I got pregnant - pregnancy and food do not mix with me - I tend to lose all my cooking ambition, so that being said - I also have a goal to NOT get pregnant this year.

2 Months

Well we have reached that first big milestone - 2 whole months old - and that means immunization. Anderson did very well and we learned he is a big boy.

Weight:
Birth: 7 pounds 15 ounces
2 months: 12 pounds 14 ounces

Length:
Birth: 20 inches
2 months: 23 3/4 inches

He is in the 75% for everything - so a good size. I looked back to see how big Jackie was at this age - she was 11 pounds 7 ounces at 2 months.

Things are going quite well with both kids, Jackie is really enjoying her days at Anna's (I am enjoying a quiet house and time to get things done or just relax.

But I am also really enjoying having time with her at home.

Anderson is obviously growing quickly and still a really good baby - his fussy time continues to be in the evening - especially after I have gone to bed - poor Adam.

We are getting lots of smiles and cooing. Okay - I get way more smiles than everyone - but I think he just takes after his father - he know where the food is coming from....

Our Christmas Present

This year Adam and I decided not to buy each other Christmas presents, but instead take the money and buy ourselves a Camcorder. With the help of lots of gift cards and cheques, we were able to purchase this Sony camcorder.
We decided to go top of the line - HD, 120 GB hard drive, 10 mega pixel still camera.
So far we have not had much opportunity to use it - but I know it will get lots of use over the years documenting the kids as they grow.

Chocolate

This girl LOVES chocolate. Surprise, surprise - knowing her father. Her favourite activity all December was the advent calendar.

Here is a series of pictures showing what she can do with a Lindt chocolate - and yes - the whole thing goes in at once.

Christmas 2008

A belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone! Our computer went to he hospital and had to have major surgery. I went through computer withdrawal over the holidays but I am happy to report the computer and I have made a full recovery!

Now that we are back in business, I have a few things to post.

Christmas this year was great!

We started our festivities on Christmas Eve at our house. The Nadeau family was all in attendance as we had a traditional Nadeau Christmas. When I was a child on Christmas Eve we always had Faspa – this is a Mennonite word – not sure exactly what it means – but for us it was essentially cold food appetizers for dinner – never eaten at the table – but instead we opened gifts as we ate.

We had a wonderful time, Jackie learned the art of opening gifts – she also made a great “Santa” handing out gifts to everyone. It was nice to spend some quality time with everyone and it did not go too late since on Christmas morning we packed everything up and headed to Adam’s Mom’s place.

Amy and her boyfriend Scott
Christmas in Canmore was delayed by a day – since Adam’s sister was not able to arrive until late afternoon on the 25th, we all decided to do Christmas morning on the 26th – but we had Christmas dinner on the 25th still.

Canmore was great – Adam’s brother and his wife came, I have not seen them since our wedding. We ate lots, drank a bit (a bit for me anyway since I am still breast feeding), talked tons and relaxed even more. Adam got a chance to go skiing, Jackie got a chance to know her Aunts and Uncle even better and spend some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa.

Grandma and Grandpa showed us they still have the knack to get a fussy infant to sleep (thank you again!)

Jackie cleaned up on gifts this year – a super huge thank you to everyone!

Overall Christmas this year was a resounding success – the best part was that for Adam and I we feel like our family is now complete – it was great to be able to look around and know we are all here.

This little wooden train is a toy Great Grandpa (Eric's Dad) send to Eric for the grand children to play with. This was a toy bought for Eric when he was 4. Jackie loved it - she pulled it all over the house and Brutis usually followed.

Grandpa - or Papa as she is calling him was her favourite person on this trip. Thye had a great time playing together.
