A Wedding

This past weekend we attended Adam's sister's wedding.

This was a first for Jackie & and Anderson (the last weeding Jackie attended she was ineutero so that does not count).

Due to some super helpful grandparent babysitters, we were able to let Anderson nap during the ceremony (thank god - since there was no way he would have made it).
Jackie did great, due to some help from a colouring book, stickers and smarties.

I have very limited photos from the church - we were asked not to take any except at the signing and the recessional.

The reception - candy table - this kept our kids entertained.

A Playroom

This past weekend was Adam's sister's wedding in Banff.

We choose to stay at the Douglas Fir Resort for a few reasons:
1. they have a kick ass play structure for kids (see photos below)
2. they have a big pool with water slides
3. they have 3 bedroom stand alone chalets where we had room to bring babysitters - my parents.

Here are some pictures of the kids on the play structure.

Great fun was had by all - parents included!

Cute!

Have I told you how much he makes me laugh...

Salsa

Fall is the season for canning.

I love canning, not sure when I started, why I started, but I love it and I hope it is a passion I can pass on to my children.

This year Amy (my sister) and I decided we would get together and make salsa.

But why make only a little bit?

We did find out that 80 pounds of tomatoes = 80 jars of salsa.

We had a great day, drank wine (we started before noon -but it does not count when you are cooking), and chatted lots.

I could not resist taking this photo!

Turbo was our supervisor for the day - he did a great job!

The Guzoo

We took a trip recently to visit my parents in Three Hills and take the kids to the Guzoo, a local zoo, small in comparison to a big city zoo, but impressive with the types and varieties of animals.

Jackie has never really liked animals - she still barely tolerates Brutis, Anderson LOVES them, but both my children are incredibly shy in strange settings and it was very apparent here.

Overall we had a good time - worth the visit for sure.

Random Photos

Everyone told me - life will change in so many way.
No one told me my children would make me laugh so much.

Here are a few photos I am trying to catch up on.

Drawing a Picture for Brutis

A few days ago, Anderson is in bed, Adam and I are in the living room watching TV.

"Jackie, what are you doing?" I call out.

"Drawing a picture for Brutis," comes the reply.

This I have to see.

Every night Brutis gets a treat, the treats are kept in this pantry, but he is only allowed one and only after both kids are in bed.
But he likes to hang out for an hour or so before - maybe hoping we will forget and give him 2 accidentally.
I love how she is laying on the floor, drawing a picture for him.
After these photos were taken, Brutis could be found in the same position but with her blankie keeping him warm.
Love it!

Brutis

I took a picture of Brutis using my new iphone - he did not like the flash, but I love how big this picture makes him look.

Missing posts

Every now and again I start to fall behind on my blog, and then because i like to keep everything in order, I don;t do small simple posts because I have not gotten the big ones out of the way yet.

But this time I am breaking my rules.

I am skipping our whole family vacation for now (hopefully I will return to it soon), but there are so many posts I have been meaning to do and since life is just to busy to sit down and do 4 hours of blogging, I must get started.
