A New Bone

Cam and Tara gave us a wonderful Christmas gift with something for everyone in the family; well Brutis got a HUGE bone. Huge for him - and he loves it. We laugh as he carries it everywhere with him and hopefully it will take him a long time to finish it.

Silly Moment...

I got a new Tupperware bowl on the weekend - needless to say; the hat scared Brutis...

Our Bet

Is Adam pregnant? No - and this is not how ne normally looks - he was pushing his stomach out to try and match me. But as a result of this photo and the increasing numbers on the scale, we have made a bet.

Starting now - Adam has 4 months to loose more weight than I will loose in one month. My month starts the day before the baby is born.

What is at stake? If I win - I will be treated to a spa massage while Adam babysits. If he wins - he get some extra money to play a poker tournament - and I will be on baby duty the whole time.

Any wagers on who will win??

The First Annual Hill Family Chistmas Open House

This past Saturday we had our First Annual Christmas Open House. We had a great time, lots of people, food and holiday cheer. Here are a few photos from the night.

The night was a great sucess, Brutis had a great time - he learned that if you jump up and knock the bottom of someones paper plate, food falls and sometimes you get lucky and get shrimp - this works especially well with kids around the 2- 2 1/2 year old mark.

But we asked Cam and Tara to bring Jazz (their little dog - Brutis' girlfriend) along. This helped keep him occupied most of the night.

Adam and I had a wonderful time sharing the evening with friends and family. I did faily well (my feet were sore before the party started from all the kitchen time I had durring the day) but I made it until after 11:00 pm (not bad considering my normal bedtime is 9:00).

We are already looking forward to next year!

The Hanson Family

Still in Red Deer we got a chance to see our friends Scott and Laurie Hansen and their 2 girls - Kate and Francis. We had a great visit, the girls were a blast and thankfully Laurie did not go into labour while we were there (she is 38 weeks and adding a boy to the family).

The Andrus Family

This weekend we went to Red Deer and had a chance to see our friends Karalee & Dave and their new baby boy Dawson.

How do we look? We stole a moment to practice the look...

Jenny and Dawson - he was such a good baby - slept almost the whole time.

Adam - practicing hands free - he wanted to see if he would be able to still play poker while being on baby duty.

Adam and Dawson - trying on the look.

And Mom... Karalee. Dave was stuck at work until just before we left, so we missed an opportunity to get a picture of the whole family - but we also held onto the little guy so much we missed a picture of him with Mom. Oops.

Mommy and her baby

Adam cought a picture of Brutis and I sleeping on the couch this weekend.

Brutis' First Birthday

Okay Brutis' birthday is not acutally until Saturday December 2, but we are going to be away all weekend, so we 'celebrated' this weekend. (Celebrated - okay - I sang Happy Birthday to him and we gave him a few little gifts)

We gave him a new winter jacket - he was not too keen on wearing it at first, but soon he was okay - I am sure he will enjoy having it on these super cold days. We also gave him a new toy bone to play with - I am not a terrible Mom - I know clothes suck as a birthday gift - you have to have at least one toy in there too.

The Mercer Christmas Party

The First Christmas Party of the Season for us this year was at our friends Starr and Cory Mercer's house. We had a great time, seeing friends, meeting new friends, eating and celebrating!

Starr did an amazing job getting the house ready for the party and the Christmas season. (The food was amazing as well.)

Christmas Tree

The time has finally come....

This Saturday we put up the Christmas tree. Oh I know not everyone is as exxcited as I am every year to put up the tree, but I absolutly love to have the tree up.

Brutis did pretty well with it, we though he might bark at it, but no. Instead he realized it was fun to hit the Christmas balls the hang on the bottom of the tree with his nose. You see they sometimes fall on the ground - and that is fun. He also really likes the tree skirt, I guess it is a good spont to hide a bone or two....

Adam at Work

Adam got a chance to go out to a lease site and help out with an install while up in Grande Prairie.

He got pickup up from the hotel this morning at 5:30 am then drove 2 hours to the lease in order to install a tubing head. The job itself took approximately 2 1/2 hours.

Adam is the one in the blue jacket.

Weather conditions in Grande Prairie this morning: -24 C.

One of our Wood Group trucks.

He got a chance to help cut and grind the casing and has now broken in his new boots. (Okay - he got really dirty - his nice ankle high steel toe boots just do not cut it when you are dealing with knee high mud).
He got so dirty that the only place they could go for lunch was the Husky truck stop. Oh well - now he knows for next time what kind of gear he will need.

Brutis and Izzy

Brutis met his cousin Izzy (my brother Blake and his wife Karen's new dog) this past Saturday. They did well playing together, but since Brutis is so big (all 10.3 pounds of him) we did keep him reigned back a bit.
