Garage Sale Find

When we are at home on the weekends we are usually not out of the house early enough to get the good stuff at garage sales - but this Saturday we were - and look at what we found.

Jackie LOVES it! She loves to drive it around the back yard, steering is a bit hard - but she has figured out reverse already.
The best part about this find - only $10! I know - I can't believe it either - I would have paid at least double for it.

Date Night

Adam and I took the opportunity to have a date night last week. I booked us on the Captain's Cruise through Heritage Park. It takes you on a paddle wheel boat ride around the Glenmore Reservoir.

We had a good time in spite of the cold rainy evening. I had been planning a nice summer shirt, capris and sandals, but the whole outfit was re-done last minute.

It was nice to not have any kids and just be together.

A huge thank you to Brenda for babysitting!

House Coat

Jackie was given this house coat as a gift quite some time ago (I actually think it was for her first birthday) but since then she wasn't even walking then, it did not make much sense to wear it.

But I brought it out the other day and she loves it. We thought she was just too cute not to take a few pictures.

I told her to say 'cheese' and since her hand were in the pockets - this is what happened. Yes we laughed a lot...

Random Holiday Photos

Jackie getting a pedicure.

We took a day drip to Creston and found a park where the baby swing must have been made for a some super HUGE babies. This swing was big enough to hold both kids.

Swimming

Part of the reason we bought our site at this particular campground had to do with the lake. As you all know, lakes are hard to come by in and around Calgary. Okay, more like impossible.

I grew up in the prairies and did not have much access to lakes, Adam however grew up in Southern Ontario where his Grandparents had a cottage on a lake. He grew up swimming across the lake, boating, water skiing and all the other fun things associated with a cottage on a lake.

I wanted our children to be able to have some of that, so since we live in the lake of no lakes (making the cottages extremely expensive) this is the next best thing for us.

So this holidays we took advantage of the lake and took the kids swimming - Jackie and Adam went more than Anderson and I, but that is mostly due to him still needing more naps than her.

This time we were all there and got a few pictures.

Fish Hatchery Visit

We took a day trip to a fish hatchery near Cranbrook.

Jackie had a great time feeding the fish. It was pretty funny, every time she dropped a pellet into the water (one at a time usually) she would say: "Come get it fishy."

We then got a chance to try and catch a fish in the pond, no luck for Adam and as you can see in the last picture, Jackie got bored pretty quickly and found something else to do.

A Bath Together

I know every parent had these photos (I know there is one at my Mom and Dad's place with all 4 of us kids in the bath together), but this was Jackie and Anderson's first bath together - so of course we had to document it not just with a few photos - but I also have to blog this momentous occasion.

No comment on the strategically placed shaving cream can (I swear this was just what happened - Anderson was playing with it).

I am sure we will have many more shared baths to take even more photos of.

A Hike and a Boat Ride

One of the benefits to our resort is the long weekend activities.

Every long weekend from May to September, they put on all kids of activities. The August Long one always has a hike. This hike takes you from our campground to the small town of Moyie (approx 2 KM), then you take a boat ride back.

This year Adam decided to take Jackie.

She did great - mostly she rode on his shoulders but she also did a bit of walking herself.

Okay, can you really get any cuter than that?

Someone brings their big side-by-side quad along in case anyone needs a ride - well no one did so Adam was offered a ride and took it. So for a bit of the hike, they rode in style.

Waiting for the boat.

On the boat - I love this photo of her.

I am not sure who she decided to do this - but we thought she looked like a turtle.

Emily

Al, Sarah and Emily came out to camp with us for the long weekend - and yet again I have realized I am terrible at taking photos of anyone over the age of 3.

So instead of any pictures of either parent, or even a a nice family photo - I took a few of Emily sleeping - nothing I like better than a sleeping baby.

Visiting Brenda

Okay we realized we were terrible at taking photos except of the kids - so you would think by these photos that we just visited Roxy - but honest - Brenda was there.

We took a day trip on Friday up to see Brenda (Shane is away). We had a great visit and got a few photos of the kids I thought I needed to share.

The blanket was put down for a place for Anderson to sit - I think Roxy thinks all blankets placed on the ground are for her though.

I love this photo - like both of them heard someone say something about food....

Blankie came everywhere with us this trip.
