Assembling the Crib - Part 1

We are 8 weeks out - time to assemble the crib. We have had it for a little while now, but due to the bedroom being needed for Christmas house guest we had to wait, so Sunday was Adam's day.

Everything started out great, we quickly cleared the bedroom, hauled everything downstairs (in doing this we discovered that our basement will ONLY fit a double box spring - that is what we were moving - but hmmm - no queen?) The crib pieces traveled quite nicely up the stairs and Adam started but laying out everything - checking it off with the instructions (yes, he is an assemble with instructions kind of guy!)

Well that is where things fell apart, we are missing some screws, not just one either, we need 8 of one type and they are all missing, but they have us 7 extra of a different type...

After calling the store we bought the crib at and discovering there was nothing they could do until Monday, that was almost the end of our crib assembly experience for the day.
But Adam wanted to see if we could get the screws at Home Depot - so we tried, and I think we could have, but we did not know the specifics for the thread.

We have now been able to get the manufacturer to FedEx the missing screws to the store (after much sweet talking on my part), hopefully they will arrive on Friday and part 2 can commence on Saturday.

Adam - note the smile - the missing screws have not been discovered yet.

I think you were able to sweet talk the manufacturer because of all that practice you had from calling all those 1-800 #'s that one summer. How many Depends did we send out to different classmates? Those were the days:).
